women's Traditional dress
The traditional women's wear in Costa Rica consists of a full skirt to twirl while dancing and a simple blouse that can sometimes have embroidery on the top. The simple blouse is usually off the shoulder and has a ruffle on the top to form a sort of sleeve. Sometimes the shirt can even have a trim of colored ribbon on the tom. Most of the colors on the skirt are bright. The most common colors on the dress are red, white, blue and gold since it's their country's colors. Another style of the traditional wear is a white skirt and blouse with a simple silk ribbon- similar to a cummerbund- tied around the waist. The ribbon comes in all different colors but is most commonly found in red. The look is completed with their hair braided and an exotic flower in their hair.
